Q. Why is Single Gourmet Hawaii a membership group?
A. Like other organizations, we have an annual membership fee. There are many reasons for this fee, all of which are based on providing our members easy to attend, professional, and entertaining events all year long.
Q. What is the age range of members?
A. Our members have a wide age range. We offer social interactions for all ages. Our only requirement is that you must be over 21 as alcohol is served at some functions. For most dinners we assign seating at the table by age and interest categories.
Q. How is the ratio of men and women?
A. We attempt to keep the ratio of men to women equal through various means including restrictions on reservations. However we cannot guarantee the same number of men and women and each event. Remember, the focus is on good dining and a fun evening, not formal match-making. That keeps the events lively and low pressure, from a dating point of view.
Q. Is there a minimum or maximum number of events to attend?
A. Once you join, you may attend as many or as few events as you like.
Q. Does the annual membership fee include the cost of events?
A. No. Events are an extra charge and generally run between $55 and $70. For example, cocktail socials may run $45 to $55, while dinners may range between $50 and $70. The more exclusive event/dinners may run slightly higher. Tax and gratuity are always included in the event fee, as are all planning and reservations.
Q. Is my name sold to other organizations?
A. Never. All information in the membership application is strictly confidential and will never be sold nor given to third parties under any condition.

Q. How much does it cost?
We have two membership options:
12 Months for $125 – This is your best value, as you get almost 3 months free! Pay once a year and come as often as you like. The only other expense you have is a low host fee (typically just $5) for each event you attend. Your meals and drinks are paid on a per person basis.
3 Months for $40 – This is ideal if you want to try us out or if you want a lower upfront cost. The only other expense you have is a low host fee (typically just $5) for each event you attend. Your meals and drinks are paid on a per person basis.

Q. What if I join and decide that Single Gourmet Hawaii is not for me?
A. We offer this guarantee: If you join Single Gourmet Hawaii and if, after attending at least one event within the first 30 days you discover that our group is not right for you, we will refund the membership fee less a $25 processing charge.
